3 Intimate Wedding Ideas to Consider During COVID-19
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we feel for so many of our brides who have had to cancel, postpone, and re-plan their wedding day—or due to social distancing, have been forced to drastically cut their guest list in order to say “I do.” With event dates quickly approaching and venues and vendors becoming more and more challenging to juggle, we’ve been thinking of unique and creative ways you can safely get married without ignoring CDC restrictions or state-wide orders or canceling everything. Ultimately, it’s your wedding day and if postponing isn’t an option, here are a few intimate wedding ideas that we think might save the day and make it one to remember after all.
A Virtual Ceremony
Many platforms can live stream your wedding day such as Zoom, Skype, and Google Hangouts. Ask your guests to still abide by the dress code, take photos, and use your wedding day hashtag—even from home. Everyone’s looking for a reason to get out of their pajamas! A virtual wedding may not seem like the best solution, but get married on your chosen wedding date and throw a celebratory party later (think: 1-year anniversary bash!).
Minimize the Guest List
According to your state’s rules and CDC guidelines regarding meeting size, you may still be able to host your wedding with the people closest to you. After all, they are the ones who matter the most.
Have your guests wait in their cars and watch while you say, “I do!” from afar. Everyone will be socially distanced and won’t miss a thing. To make it even more interesting, ask your guests to join in on a parade around town for the reception.
While this may not be the dream wedding day you’ve been picturing in your head for months, years, or a lifetime, remember the reason you’re getting married in the first place. Our bride, Bonnie, and her now-husband turned their canceled wedding into a dreamy elopement. See the snapshot of their intimate wedding ceremony here. Love her long sleeve lace dress? Bonnie is wearing the Brigitte gown in Ivory and you can now safely try our dresses on in the comfort of your own home with our new Try At Home experience.
