Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are engaged to be married on October 12th, 2018 -- the second highly anticipated royal wedding of the year! Princess Eugenie and Jack met while on posh skiing trips in 2010 in Verbier, Switzerland.
The 28-year-old's father was celebrating his 50th birthday, when they met and fell in love, Jack explained in an engagement interview with the BBC.
At the time, the 32-year-old was a waiter and barman and was the former manager of Mayfair club Mahiki. The following year Jack was dressed to impress at Royal Ascot, after which they had a long-distance relationship while the royal lived in New York before moving back in 2015. "I love Eugenie so much and we are just so happy and over the moon for what is to come," he gushed in the interview.
In another interview with British Vogue, the royal officially announced that her sister, Princess Beatrice, will be taking on the role of Maid of Honour. Euge is amazing, she gushed, adding, She's a very modern bride." The bride-to-be elaborated on her upcoming big day, admitting that she's not too stressed at all!
She added: It's nerve-racking because you want it to be perfect, but then you realize that you're going to be with the person you love forever and nothing else really matters. And it's bound to be a perfect day, especially when she has her sister lending a helping hand.
While Eugenie and Jack's engagement photos were absolutely beautiful, there was a certain sparkling jewel that caught everyone's eye: the princess's engagement ring. The breathtaking bauble features a unique padparadscha sapphire surrounded by 10 brilliant-cut diamonds and two pear-cut diamonds. The use of the rare and colorful stone is particularly meaningful to Eugenie as her mother Sarah Ferguson's ring was quite similar - a Burma ruby to match her red hair, which was also surrounded by diamonds.
Now, for the dress -- we do know that it will be a British designer. *Sigh* as much as we wish we were designing Princess Eugenie's wedding dress we can still dream about it!
