It's safe to say we have a #girlcrush on our boss, Kelly. She's the best and we want our brides to love her as much as we do! So we asked Kelly some fun (and deep) questions. Here are 10 things about Kelly that you never knew.
1. Whats the craziest thing youve ever done?
KF: The craziest thing Ive ever done was jump out of a plane! LOL. Yep, I went skydiving a couple years ago with a group of friends and it was the most amazing, fun, and exhilarating experience ever.
2. Do you have any secret hobbies?
KF: I was an avid equestrian during my childhood. I started at the age of 7 and rode horses up until I moved to Chicago for college. I spent every waking minute riding my horse, Aspen. I was extremely competitive and have a shrine of first place ribbons and trophies. I had him for 19 years! He was my first love.
3. Tell us something no one knows about you...
KF: Im actually rather shy. I don't like being the center of attention or in the lime light. So sometimes its tough as the face of the business to put myself out there because it's not natural for me. I see other people who shine in front of the camera and I always wish I was more comfortable doing that.
4. What do you do for fun?
KF: Im very active. I love to hike, bike, ski, travel, etc. And I like to drink LOTS of wine :) Hanging out with friends and family is a weekly occurrence for me. My husband and I love to be outdoors so we really take advantage of the summer in New York and get out as much as we can. I also started weekly meditation which has been amazing.
5. You love to travel. Do you travel less now that you have a 10 month old baby?
KF: Travel is one of my absolute favorite things to do and is not something Im willing to compromise on. I actually traveled to 3 countries while I was pregnant. I was in Taiwan and China for business and India for vacation early in my pregnancy. Livia, my daughter, already has a passport and she went to Turks and Caicos with us in May. I plan to turn her into my little travel companion.
6. What is your secret obsession?
KF: I'm am an organizer. There is something so fulfilling and therapeutic about getting organized. Unfortunately, I dont have much free time these days to leisurely straighten my drawers and cabinets, home and office like Id want to, but if I had the time, I would surely enjoy doing it!
7. Whats the hardest thing youve ever had to do?
Well, there are so many that seemed hard. But the absolute hardest thing thus far in my life was planning my little brothers funeral when 6 months pregnant and still running my business last year. My younger brother passed away unexpectedly and words cant even describe the depth of hard that I've endured. Im lucky that I have such an amazing team. I couldnt have done it without them.
8. If you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would it be?
KF: Compassionate. Dedicated. Determined.
9. What is one thing you would brag about yourself?
KF: Ick, I hate bragging. BUT, if you forced me to toot my horn about something... I would tell you that I am a phenomenal seamstress. I can out-sew people who have 20-30 years of experience and I have an incredible eye for being able to tell what is wrong on a gown and how to fix it. And I have the skills to physically fix it if I need to. Most designers only know how to design but lack the technical and sewing skills to be able to do anything more than just draw.
10. If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
KF: I would make the day have 10 extra hours. I dream everyday about having more time. There is so much I want to do and accomplish but there is never enough time to do it all. I have high goals and high expectations of myself, so a little extra time in a day to make it happen would be very helpful.
